Cultural Recognition
Hair & Care strives to bring about systemic change for blind and low vision people, and has now become part of wider cultural conversations around fashion, design, disability and accessibility. We are proud that our work and commitment to accessibility has been recognised by leading cultural organisations including London’s V&A, The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York and Vogue Business – bringing these conversations to new audiences.
Metropolitan Museum of Art
New York | May 2026
Hair & Care was recognised in the Met’s ‘Costume Art’ exhibition, which opened in conjunction with the Met Gala (open now until January 10th 2027) - highlighting our collaboration with designer Chet Lo, making his London Fashion Week show inclusive to blind and low vision audiences.
The feature sits within the ‘Disabled Body’ section of the exhibition, alongside two of Lo’s tactile looks, placed either side of Picasso’s ‘The Blind Man’s Meal’.
To be recognised internationally in one of the world's most celebrated cultural institutions is a huge and meaningful step for Hair & Care.
V&A Museum
London | June 2025
Hair & Care featured in the V&A’s ‘Design & Disability’ in June 2025 - an exhibition curated by Natalie Kane, celebrating the radical contributions of Disabled, Deaf, and neurodivergent people and communities to design history and contemporary culture.
It recognised our work with designer Sinéad O’Dwyer the season prior, where Hair & Care championed the inclusion of the first blind model to walk the runway at Copenhagen Fashion Week, with Lucy Edwards – a landmark moment for representation and inclusion for the sight loss community within fashion.
Vogue Business
