Making Fashion Accessible
Through our Making Fashion Accessible initiative, we partner with designers to help make their Fashion Week shows accessible and inclusive to blind and low vision people, through detailed audio descriptions and a range of sensory, tactile experiences.
Hair & Care launched MFA at London Fashion Week in February 2024. To date, we have created 6 accessible fashion shows across London and Copenhagen Fashion Weeks - with designers Chet Lo, Roksanda, S.S. Daley and Sinead O’Dwyer. In August 2024 we championed the inclusion of the first blind model to walk at Copenhagen Fashion Week, Lucy Edwards.
As a highly visual industry, fashion is at present largely inaccessible for those with sight loss, but with the right support and expertise, the world of fashion can be adapted and made accessible; Hair & Care is dedicated to bringing about this much needed change.
We strive for equality and inclusion - creating accessible space for those with sight loss and offering brands the chance to open up their craft and their collections to a community passionate and interested to take part in fashion.
Our Press
Since forming the Making Fashion Accessible initiative at the beginning of 2024, we have featured in leading publications and broadcast such as the BBC, British Vogue, ITV, Vogue Business, Dazed, The Independent, and many more.
Our Work
Hair & Care is proud to have partnered with an range of Newgen and luxury designers, whose individual styles brought different levels of artistry to the experience for blind and low vision guests, translating beautifully in accessible ways.
ROKSANDA
In September 2025, Hair & Care partnered for the second time with the wonderful ROKSANDA to make her SS26 show at London Fashion Week accessible to blind and low vision guests.
The show, held in the grand ballroom of The Chancery Rosewood Hotel, threaded together dramatic tailoring, elegant gowns, and structural contrasts. With cut-away shapes, flowing drapes of brushstroke silk, strapless pieces offset with bold capes, and daring colour stories like cobalt, vermilion, and earth tones, her designs are perfectly aligned with providing a multi-sensory experience for blind and low vision guests.
Guests arrived at Roksanda's studio for a pre-show touch tour organised by Hair & Care, where they were able to hear about the inspiration behind the collection, and explore the structure and feel of the garments.

ERDEM
In September 2025, Hair & Care partnered for the first time with luxury designer Erdem to make his SS26 show at London Fashion Week accessible to blind and low vision guests.
Erdem's collections often draw on historical references, art and literature - his show this season held under the beautiful colonnade of the British Museum - and blending them with a modern sensibility. He is best known for intricate florals, delicate lace, and richly detailed fabrics, seen as timeless yet imaginative, balancing refinement with a touch of drama.
Hair & Care ran a pre-show touch tour that took place at Erdem's studio, allowing blind and low vision guests to explore key pieces from the collection through touch, feel and sound.

ROKSANDA
In February 2025, Hair & Care partnered with renowned haute couture designer ROKSANDA to make her AW25 show at London Fashion Week accessible to blind and low vision guests.
Known for her architectural silhouettes, rich textures, and bold use of colour, ROKSANDA’s work offered a unique opportunity to translate high fashion into a multi-sensory experience.
Hair & Care provided an accessible touch tour that took place before the show, exploring key pieces from the collection through touch, feel and sound.

S.S. DALEY
In February 2025, Hair & Care teamed up with S.S. Daley at London Fashion Week to bring greater accessibility to their AW25 show for blind and low vision audiences.
Together, we set two intimate touch tours at the S.S. Daley studio, where guests were taken through the collection, before and after the show.
Guests were invited to explore the garments through touch, gaining a deeper understanding of the textures, craftsmanship, and creative inspiration behind each piece.

CHET LO
Hair & Care first partnered with designer Chet Lo for his SS25 show at London Fashion Week, to make the experience accessible for blind and low vision guests.
Building on the success of our first collaboration, we reunited for Chet Lo’s AW25 showcase, once again prioritising accessibility through a tailored touch tour and an inclusive runway experience. Among our guests were members of some of the UK's leading sight loss charities: RNIB, VICTA, RSBC, and Thomas Pocklington Trust.
Chet’s signature use of bold textures and sculptural design translated beautifully into the accessible elements provided, giving guests a rich, multi-sensory understanding of the collection.

SINÉAD O'DWYER
Hair & Care first partnered with Sinéad O'Dwyer in February 2024 to help make her AW24 LFW show accessible for three blind and low vision guests - including blind activist and broadcaster Lucy Edwards - through the use of audio descriptions.
Fast forward to August where we collaborated for a second time, for Sinéad's SS25 debut at Copenhagen Fashion Week. With the addition of tactile fabric swatches, together with Sinéad we made the show accessible for a group of blind and low vision guests from the Danish Association of the Blind and RNIB.
We are so proud to have also championed the inclusion of a blind model to walk in the show, with Lucy Edwards making history as the first blind model ever to walk the runway at Copenhagen.

The Need
There is a misconception that blind and low vision people are not interested in fashion or how they look - this could not be further from the truth.
As an industry designed to make people feel good and that prides itself in diversity, there is a notable lack of accessibility in fashion - and there is an entire community of people who are in large excluded from what the industry has to offer.
Fashion, as a means of self-expression, confidence and creativity, should be open to everyone - to be experienced and enjoyed by all.
