As we’ve just wrapped up another exciting season at London Fashion Week - making two shows accessible with two luxury designers - we are excited to announce that Hair & Care was featured in The Telegraph Fashion.

The article, written by Emily Cronin and Poppy Levison, beautifully shares Poppy’s experience as a guest of Hair & Care at ROKSANDA's accessible show.

Poppy joined us at the show, where we created an accessible fashion experience with touch tours, audio description, and tactile swatch booklets. Her reflections capture the meaning and impact of inclusion in fashion.

Hair & Care featured in GLAMOUR Magazine

We’re proud to announ e that GLAMOUR magazine has recently featured Hair & Care, recognising our debut film Beyond Vision and the mission behind it. Created with director Hector Hilleary, the film celebrates five years of our work and shares the voices of blind and low-vision women on confidence, identity, and self-expression.

​

The feature also highlights our achievement in supporting over 500 blind and low vision women and girls through our workshops, as well as our work with designers such as Sinéad O’Dwyer and Roksanda to make fashion more inclusive. At its heart, Beyond Vision reflects our belief that beauty should be accessible to everyone and that representation and visibility matter.

Hair & Care featured in Dazed Beauty

We’re delighted that Dazed Beauty covered the premiere of our short film, Beyond Vision. Created with director Hector Hilleary, the film challenges misconceptions about sight loss and beauty, sharing the voices of blind and low-vision women on confidence, identity, and self-expression.

​

With contributions from industry experts, Beyond Vision reflects our mission to make beauty accessible, supporting over 500 women and girls since 2019. The screening also included a panel on accessibility, underscoring that true inclusion means valuing people with sight loss at the heart of the beauty conversation.​

Anna Cofone featured in Hairdressers Journal International

We're delighted to announce that founder Anna Cofone is featured in this month's Voicenotes series by Hairdressers Journal international, which spotlights her mission to champion accessibility within the hairdressing industry.​

​

In the feature, Anna shares powerful reflections on the role of listening, connection, and care in transforming the salon experience for blind and low vision clients. She speaks to the urgent need for greater inclusion in professional practice and challenges assumptions around beauty and vision impairment.

Hair & Care was proudly featured in The Sunday Times Style article 'Here's why beauty products should be made more accessible for all' by Lottie Jackson. The piece explores how traditional beauty packaging often excludes disabled users, and highlights the urgent need for more inclusive design.

Hair & Care's founder, Anna Cofone, is featured for her work empowering blind and low vision women through hair and beauty, with the article recognising Hair & Care as a champion of accessibility and inclusion in the industry. The feature marks an important moment in raising awareness around 
accessibility in beauty.

Hair & Care featured in the 'Design and Disability' V&A Exhibition

It was such an honour to see our work included at the Design and Disability exhibition at the V&A Museum, and to be invited to the opening night. Featured in the collection were our audio descriptions that we created for Copenhagen Fashion Week last year, enabling blind and low vision guests to actively engage with the fashion show.

Challenging assumptions and highlighting overlooked narratives, this exhibition calls for a more equitable, accessible future - where design is not just inclusive by intention, but by practice, and we were proud to be a part of it.

Guests, including Jessikah Inaba, the first black and blind barrister, Lucy Edwards, influencer and disability activist, and Jane Manley, analyst at RNIB, shared how these experiences allowed them to engage with fashion in a meaningful way - proving that style is more than just visual.

​Founder Anna Cofone caught up with Vogue ahead of Copenhagen Fashion Week where Hair & Care partnered with Sinead O'Dwyer, to bring the element of accessiblity to her SS25 show. 

 

As well as making the show accessible to blind and low vision guests, we were also proud to have  championed the inclusion of blind model, Lucy Edwards, who walked the runway with her guide dog. A monumental and history-making moment!

Hair & Care recently made its debut on BBC's London News, exploring more of our

in-person workshops!

Emma Tracey, a blind broadcaster, presenter and host of the BBC Access All podcast, visited one of Hair & Care's workshops to get more insight into the community and work that we do monthly with our attendees, as well as understand more how the industry needs to move forward in conversation with our founder, Anna Cofone.

In addition to showcasing the workshops on BBC News, Hair & Care was featured on the BBC Access All Podcast, with presenter Emma Tracey speaking to founder Anna Cofone about the beginnings of Hair & Care, and the work of the charity from its start in 2019.

In their conversation, Anna and Emma discussed further the importance behind open discussions across the beauty industry about how to make hair products and tools accessible to everyone, and how low vision and blind individuals can feel further represented across all beauty products.

Hair & Care in British Vogue

 Sinead O'Dwyer's AW24 show at London Fashion Week became fashion's first VI accessible show with Hair & Care's process and efforts having being featured in British Vogue. 

​

The collaboration between Hair & Care and Sinéad O'Dwyer has allowed for low vision and blind people to have access to a described audio track of each look in detail during the show, as well as all VI attendees being given a tour of the collection, where they could engage sensorially with the garments. 

​

Talking at length about Hair & Care's mission and incredible collaboration with Sinead O'Dwyer on bringing accessibility to her AW24 show, Dazed and Dazed Beauty featured our work in their show report, emphasising the innovative experience of our visually impaired attendees attending her show, and how they were able to engage with Sinead's collection through a myriad of ways.
